As if trying Mad Honey on air wasn’t enough, Joe Rogan and comedian Sam Tallent took a moment to discuss if the supposed hallucinogen is legal in the US.

The podcast host and the comedian sat down for a tête-à-tête and during the conversation, they went on to discuss the completely natural substance from Nepal, which holds a reputation for its health benefits and “magical” powers.

And, this isn’t the first time Joe Rogan‘s podcast has featured Mad Honey, so his fans’ curiosity about the same has been piqued further after the latest episode with Sam.

Yes, it is legal to buy Mad Honey in most parts of the United States. However, it is only sold as a dietary and herbal supplement or cosmetic ingredient.

Natural honey is believed to serve as a remedy for various health issues, including weakened immune systems, inflammation or pain, poor digestion, anxiety, stress, and even allergies.

The Himalayan Mad Honey website notes that the side effects could be fatal if the honey is consumed in high quantities.

A few people may also develop allergies or have adverse reactions such as diarrhea, nausea, high blood pressure, heart palpitations, and more when Mad Honey is consumed in its natural form.

We recommend you check with a medical professional before using it.

What flavor is the substance and where is it found?

Mad Honey is found in the Himalayan region of Nepal. The honey is produced by the Himalayan cliff bee from the nectar of wildflowers in the mountains.

The flavor of mad honey is described as “floral, memorable, fragrant, smoky and woodsy” with a bitter taste.

It gets its name from high concentrations of grayanotoxin, which is produced by bees after feeding on the rhododendron flowers.

Harvesting mad honey is believed to be an extremely difficult task as the hives are built on cliffs near the plants, which are rare and only found in high altitudes.

Therefore, it is priced much higher than regular honey.

Joe Rogan and Sam Tallent try it on air

Joe and Sam must have had quite the experience on the latest episode of the Joe Rogan Experience.

The host, who has tried Mad Honey before, offers it to his guest in the latest segment. However, he does warn Sam about its rather maddening effects and recommends it only in small quantities.

They also discuss if Mad Honey can be bought or sold legally in the US, which explains why the viewers are looking for an answer after the episode concluded.
