Liverpool are joining the race for Alex Scott as they consider launching a summer move for the Bristol City wonderkid.

The Reds may struggle to land their top target – Jude Bellingham – without having Champions League football.

That means Liverpool may need to consider other midfield talents with Jurgen Klopp in desperate need of new energy.

The Daily Mail now report that Liverpool are interested in Bristol City teenager Alex Scott.

It’s suggested that Liverpool talent spotters Dave Fallows and Barry Hunter watched Scott feature for England Under-20’s against Germany in March.

Liverpool are now thought to be rivalling the likes of West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers for Scott’s signature.

Scott may be injured at the moment but it looks like there will be a major battle for Scott’s signature this summer.

Liverpool face a battle for Alex Scott

Scott hails from Guernsey and played for Guernsey FC before joining Bristol City in 2020.

The former Southampton and Bournemouth trainee has become a star with the Robins, emerging as one of the Championship’s top midfielders.

Roy Keane has called Scott ‘brilliant to watch’ whilst comparing him to Manchester City superstar Jack Grealish.

Scott even called Grealish his favourite player earlier this month and Grealish responded by calling him a ‘top top talent’.

The Premier League beckons for Scott and Liverpool are far from alone in this race.

Transfer insider Dean Jones, who was speaking to Give Me Sport about Scott’s future in March, suggested that Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United had both made contact for Scott.

West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Brighton, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Everton and Leicester City are also thought to be making moves.

Scott appears to be a huge talent and Liverpool would no doubt love to win the race for the 19-year-old this summer.
