Tottenham Hotspur target James Maddison has heaped praise on Brendan Rodgers amid claims Spurs also fancy the recently-sacked manager.

Sunday proved to be a big day in the Premier League manager scene.

Chelsea sacked Graham Potter late on Sunday, but that only came a few hours after Leicester City confirmed the departure of Brendan Rodgers.

Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace proved to be the end for Rodgers, who claimed just one point in his last six games.

Rodgers’ four years at Leicester are over and the 50-year-olds finds himself out of a job for the first time in a while.

Leicester playmaker James Maddison really took his game to another level under Rodgers and has now praised the outgoing Foxes boss.

Maddison has taken to Twitter to send an emotional message to Rodgers, calling him a ‘top manager’.

Maddison also called Rodgers a ‘brilliant and caring man’ whilst paying tribute to the impact he has made in recent years.

The playmaker clearly feels that Rodgers helping him as a player and as a man, wishing him luck with whatever comes next.

James Maddison and Brendan Rodgers could reunite at Tottenham

It’s now out of all realms of possibility that Maddison and Rodgers end up joining forces again very soon.

The Daily Mail suggest that Tottenham want to sign Maddison this summer no matter who becomes their new manager.

Daniel Levy is seemingly a big fan of Maddison and wants to bring the attacking midfielder to North London.

That will be exciting for any manager but Spurs may well end up bringing in Rodgers as their new boss in quite the turn of events.

Levy has been a big fan of Rodgers for years now and actually wanted to appoint him back in 2012, but he chose Liverpool.

TalkSPORT even reported as recently as March that Tottenham are big fans of Rodgers.

The Northern Irishman is now available and Tottenham are seeking a new boss after parting ways with Antonio Conte.

Rodgers may not be the favourite but there seems to be a genuine possibility of him and Maddison reuniting at Tottenham in the coming months.
