Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard was “incredible” against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Arteta has told BBC Sport that Odegaard played well for Arsenal against Newcastle in their 2-0 win.
The 24-year-old Norway international playmaker scored the opening goal for the Gunners in the first half.
The Arsenal boss has added on the club’s official website that the £30 million (The Daily Mail) Odegaard is growing and is producing huge performances.

Arteta said about Odegaard: “He was incredible. It was a really physical game for him, and someday you think he is at the right moment.
“He completely controlled the game. In many moments, he gave a lot of security and leadership to the team. I am very pleased with him.”
The Arsenal boss added about the Norwegian: “The leadership he is showing and the levels of consistency which is what you demand from those leaders.
“It’s not moments, it’s every single day. Home and away, he’s had some huge performances, he’s really helping the team, he’s growing in the right direction. We are all very happy to have him.”
Top-class player
Martin Odegaard is one of the best playmakers in the Premier League and has been superb for Arsenal this season.
The 24-year-old has grown and developed a lot under Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
Odegaard struggled to make the Real Madrid squad, and now he is leading Arsenal’s charge to the Premier League title.
The playmaker has scored 15 goals and given seven assists in 34 Premier League matches for the Gunners this season.
Manchester City are still the favourites for the Premier League title, but Arsenal are going to push them all the way.
