Charlie Davies has waxed lyrical about former Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers and how he is now ‘the best’ defender in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic.
The former USMNT international lauded his fellow countryman and how he is on the verge of helping Celtic secure yet another historic treble.
Only Championship side, Inverness stand in their way, and unless there is the collapse of all collapses, then Celtic should secure that treble, which would be an incredible achievement from Ange Postecoglou’s side – a manager linked with Tottenham.

One of the big reasons behind Celtic’s success has been the reliability at the back, losing just one game this season, they have conceded just 25 and Cameron Carter-Vickers has played a massive part in all of that.
In 2022, the 25-year-old departed Tottenham for good after making five appearances for the club. There were several uninspiring loan spells during that period.
But now, the American defender has found his home and he is cooking on the Scottish stage, which Charlie Davies touched upon, as he told CBS Sports.
“He has brought stability,” said Davies. “He is the general. He has put in a lot of hard tackles. He is a player that is regarded as the best in the Scottish Premier League.
“That’s the kind of player he is. He held the team accountable. He is the anchor in the back. He played alongside Carl Starfelt. It always felt like he was the enforcer for this Celtic team.”

CARTER-VICKERS MADE THE RIGHT MOVE
There might be many who dismiss the qualities in the Scottish Premiership and playing in a two-team league.
Yes, Scotland doesn’t have the money of the English Premier League, therefore, it can’t change its fortunes around where it is more competitive and there is a lot more quality.
But it shouldn’t be dismissed that you need serious bottle to deal with the pressure of playing for a team like Celtic because you have to win every single game that is put on the table.
