Jamie Foxx’s undisclosed medical condition has caused a lot of concern among fans after sources said he reportedly suffered from high blood pressure when he was first hospitalized, which could have led to a stroke. But, the actor “got lucky” as he received the treatment on time.
It has been a month since Jamie was taken to the hospital following a “medical complication”, as his daughter Corinne Foxx noted in a now-deleted Instagram post.
In the same post, she clarified he was on his “way to recovery” following “quick action” and “great care.” Last week, Jamie himself took to Instagram to thank his fans for their prayers.
Here’s everything that has been made known about Jamie’s health condition.

Jamie Foxx could’ve had a stroke but he ‘got lucky’
It was confirmed by PEOPLE that Jamie did not suffer a medical emergency while he was on a film set and “was not transported to the hospital by emergency vehicle”. A source close to him reportedly told Radar Online that doctors treated the actor for high blood pressure.
The Insider said: “Jamie suffers from high blood pressure, which doctors say can cause clots in the brain leading to a stroke.”
“Doctors believe this was a long time coming, and really, if they hadn’t acted fast, Jamie might well have been a goner,” they added further.
A different source seconded the above claim by telling Ebony: “It was touch and go for days with him, and he had to be revived—he is very lucky to be alive!”
On May 3, he broke his silence by sharing a post on Instagram that read: “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed.”
The actor continues to be showered with blessings and prayers as he continues to receive treatment.
He’s not in a ‘life-threatening situation’
Last week, another source in the actor’s circle shared he was “stable” and “not in a life-threatening situation” anymore.
However, the doctors treating him want to ensure he was completely fine before discharging him from the hospital, so he was made to undergo more tests.
“Doctors are doing more tests and want to be completely sure that he will be okay before allowing him to” leave the hospital,” an insider said before adding that he has advised to “keep his stress level down” once he’s out.
Apparently, the hospital is the last place the actor wants to be, even though he’s receiving medical care. While it isn’t known what exactly happened to Jamie, it is said to be “serious enough” medically.
Do not entertain the speculation surrounding the actor’s health
Jamie’s family requested privacy as he’s recovering from a medical condition, which has been established to be serious. But, a number of reports and random posts on the Internet are circulating either unconfirmed news or rumors about the actor.
As fans note, reports claiming he’s in the ICU and on “life support” are swirling online, but we urge you not to believe them or share them with others unless it has been confirmed by Jamie’s family or sources close to him.
In the meantime, Jamie has been replaced by Nick Cannon as the host for the upcoming season of Beat Shazam.
