Kelly Clarkson is switching locations for her fifth season of the talk show, but why did the singer move to New York?
The Kelly Clarkson show has been gaining a lot of viewers as fans are loving the singer’s goofy personality and how she interacts with other celebrities.
With the fifth season on its way, Kelly decided to shake things up a little for her NBC show by changing the location from Los Angeles to New York.
Why did Kelly Clarkson’s show move to New York?
Kelly’s show moved to New York from Los Angeles because of New York’s Film Tax Credit.
The same was confirmed by NBC in a statement that read: “The Kelly Clarkson Show’ will film in the iconic studio 6A, former home for late-night talk show hosts Jimmy Fallon, David Letterman, and Conan O’Brien. The investment includes the cost of a new state-of-the-art studio, technical facility and support space.”
The statement further noted: “As part of the program’s expansion, New York now provides an incentive to eligible television series that relocate to New York and reduces the eligibility requirements for talk and variety shows from five years of filming to two years of filming.”
Singer addresses allegations about the toxic environment
The news about the location switch comes days after there had been allegations about the show having a toxic work environment.
Kelly was quick to address these in her social media post. She wrote: “I love my team at The Kelly Clarkson Show, and to find out that anyone is feeling unheard and or disrespected on this show is unacceptable.”
She continued: “I have always been, and will continue to be, committed to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment at The Kelly Clarkson Show. As we prepare for a move to the East Coast, I am more committed than ever to ensuring that not only our team that is moving, but also our new team in NY, is comprised of the best and kindest in the business.”
Kelly noted that she plans to arrange leadership training that will allow people to grow and learn more.
What we know about the fifth season
The fifth season of the show will be released in the fall. As of now, an official date for this has not been announced.
Much like the other seasons, we can expect many more celebrity guests and entertaining games. The show has been given the green light until 2025.
