Old Dominion’s lead singer, Matthew Ramsey was seen using a cane at the ACM Awards, but what happened to the singer?

Old Dominion had a lot to celebrate as the band recently bagged an award at the ACM Awards. However, all the fans could not help but look at Matthew who was using a cane.

What happened to Old Dominion’s lead singer?

Old Dominion’s lead singer, Matthew had an ATV accident back in March which led to his pelvis being broken in three different places.

He is currently on the road to recovery and has been doing much better. It was clear that Matthew did not want to miss the chance of celebrating with his bandmates and decided to bring a cane to attend the Academy of Country Music Awards.

In fact, his bandmates, Trevor Rosen, Geoff Sprung, and Brad Tursi, were all helpful as they aided him during his red-carpet walk.

They won ACM Group of the Year

At the award show, the band won ACM Group of the Year and thanked their fans for all the support.

At the same time, Matthew also threw light on the recent shootings that took place in the US.

He said: “There are people obviously hurting in the world right now trying to figure out how to make sense of, you know, divisiveness and shootings and things like that.”

There are people that are really hurting right now, and we’re so proud to be in a room full of country music fans and make music for those people, but we’re most proud to be able to make music for people that are hurting right now. So thank you for including us in this party and allowing us to make music for whoever needs it. We will continue to try and do so. And thank you to my friends here for holding me up when I need it,” he continued.

He has documented his healing journey online

Matthew made the announcement on Instagram and confirmed the sad news to the fans. Due to the injury, the band was forced to put a pause on their No Bad Vibes tour.

Shortly after, he kept updating the fans about his recovery and even posted videos and photos of the same.

At the moment, it is unclear when will the band head back for the tour.
