It isn’t clear how long Instagram users have been facing issues with the login session as many are met with the Challenge Required error while trying to access the app.
The app wouldn’t let you log in and when you try to proceed after entering your credentials, it starts to glitch.
The above error usually occurs when there’s an issue with your connectivity or if the app hasn’t been updated. There are chances that only some users are met with the issue if Instagram is testing new features.
And, some users are facing the same issue in the middle of using the app as it would randomly shut down to show the error again or wouldn’t load the latest posts.
The recurring issue on the platform could also be caused by a temporary bug.

Some users have shared screenshots displaying the Challenge Required error, while others are urging Instagram to fix the issue so they can go back to using the app.
One annoyed user tweeted: “Have tried everything! My account looks blank. No followers or following. Asking for Challenge Required and won’t refresh anything. So frustrating!”
“Every time it has Challenge required error, I have to verify with SMS as the only option while the SMS cannot send to my phone. Why there are no alternatives such as email and WhatsApp??? Please add other options or at least fix the verification,” wrote another irked user.
A third user said: “Hey @instagram any idea why I can’t post links with my stories? What does Challenge Required mean? I’m ready to accept.”

- Logout and login is a straightforward fix for any error related to connectivity.
- You can also turn the power supply to your Internet modem off and back on to rectify the issue with the main source.
