David Moyes’s West Ham United reportedly expect Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to bid for Declan Rice, but he wants to move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
According to The Times, Arsenal and Manchester City are interested in signing Declan Rice from Premier League rivals West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal’s initial offer of £80 million plus add-ons for Rice has been turned down, according to the report, which has added that West Ham are now expecting a bid from treble-winners for the 24-year-old, described as “a diamond and a fabulous player” by former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves on Premier League Productions (29/04/23 at 11:50 am).
The report has added that Rice “wants to join Arsenal”.
Arsenal or Manchester City for Declan Rice?
In our view, if Manchester City make a serious move for Declan Rice, then the Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners could be able to beat Arsenal to the signing of the West Ham United midfielder.
Yes, the England international midfielder wants to make a move to Arsenal, but anything could happen when the transfer window is open.
City are a massive club who have just won the treble.
Yes, Arsenal are a big club too and are a global brand, but the chance to work with Pep Guardiola at City and be part of a winning team could be very tempting for Rice.
