Drake and Pharrell Williams seem to be having a beef of their own as the rapper takes aim at Cash In Cash Out singer and Pusha T in Travis Scott’s Meltdown.
Travis Scott‘s much-awaited Utopia was released on July 28 and in it, Drake was one of the featured artists. Fans were shocked after they heard his song Meltdown’s verse which took aim at Pusha T and Pharrell Williams. It did not take long for the lyrics to go viral on social media as fans tried to gather information on what went wrong between the artists.

In the song, Drake raps “I melt down the chains that I bought from your boss/ Give a f**k about all of that heritage s**t/ Since V not around, the members done hung up the Louis / They not even wearing that s**t.’
It appears that the singer is referencing Pharrell‘s chain he bought earlier this year. This was even featured in his song Jumbotron S**t Poppin. At that time, the rapper faced a lot of criticism with people questioning his use of the jewelry as they saw it as part of Pharrell’s legacy, as per reports.
It appears that Drake is addressing these comments in the song.
What happened between Pusha T and Drake?
Pusha T and Drake’s relationship fell through back in 2028 when the Mercy rapper told the world about Hotline Bling’s child. At that time, Drake was trying to keep the entire matter away from the media.
Since then, the two have had bad blood. At that time, Pharrell, who is a close friend of Pusha T, had noted that he was unhappy with how things went down between the two.
What has Pharrell Williams said about Drake?
Back in 2020, Pharrell appeared on Drink Champs interview and opened up about his thoughts on Drake. The singer made it clear that he did not have any problems with Drake.
He said at that time, “We’ve talked several times. I love Drake. Even in the middle of all that stuff … he said super nice and kind things to me on the DM and in public … Neither one of them are into problems. They don’t like it, like, it’s unnecessary. But they’re both people who, when they feel like they’re being pushed to a limit, they gotta do what they gotta do.”
However, things seem to look different in 2023. As of now, Pharrell has not commented on these lyrics.
