An NSFW scene from The Crowded Room featuring Tom Holland’s character, which fans have assumed to be gay as he gets a backshot from his male lover, is dominating Twitter.
Tom Holland had previously confessed playing a role in The Crowded Room was the “hardest” thing he’s ever done. He portrays the complex character named Danny Sullivan on Apple TV+ and fans are hailing the Spider-Man star for his impeccable acting skills after watching the intimate scene with another man.
Tom Holland’s NSFW backshot scene goes viral
A scene showing Tom getting a backshot from his male lover in episode 8 of the series, The Crowded Room, has garnered a great deal of attention.
The episode titled ‘Reunion’ sees Danny getting intimate with his male lover Jerome, while dressed as his alter ego Ariana. Danny thinks Ariana was his “best friend” and a “keeper of my loneliness.”
The bathroom scene filmed in a gay club depicts the intimate act called backshot which requires one person to be behind another while performing it.

But, more than the scene itself, it’s Tom’s enactment of it that’s being praised by fans, as he features in one of the most complex roles of his acting career yet.
Fans assume the character played by actor is ‘gay’
Tom’s character Danny is inspired by a real-life person named Billy Milligan, who was acquitted of a major crime by pleading dissociative identity disorder.
Throughout the show, you can find Tom wearing different personalities. The scene in question shows Danny getting intimate with another man as Ariana, who is a female, which doesn’t make his character gay by logic.
Viewers have lauded the actor for delivering a powerful performance in the raunchy scene that’s dominating everybody’s timeline on Twitter at the moment.
“Tom Holland in a gay club wearing black eye shadow and dancing w a hot guy then getting back shots in a bathroom stall is something I did not expect to see this year – I love it,” wrote one fan.
Another added: “Tom Holland absolutely killed the bathroom scene on The Crowded Room. Love love.”

The hardest role Tom Holland has ever played
Playing Danny had such an impact on Tom that he took a break from acting. As much as he loved the channeling role, Tom said portraying it was incredibly hard.
He said: “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Emotionally, physically, logistically.”
“I am always looking for a challenge. I’m always looking for a message that I feel like should be out there. This show comes with a really strong message, and I hope that the audiences pick up on it,” he added.
