Jose Enrique has stated on Instagram that Fabio Carvalho won’t play for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool again following his comments on-loan at RB Leipzig.
After joining Liverpool last summer from Fulham, the 20-year-old endured a difficult debut campaign at Anfield, playing only 13 Premier League games last term.
Ahead of the forthcoming campaign, it was decided that Fabio Carvalho should spend 12 months in Germany and for RB Leipzig.
But the attack-minded midfielder has since told the media in Germany that his manager Jurgen Klopp ‘didn’t really speak to me’ and he ‘didn’t really give me advice’, as quoted by Goal.
Given the success Klopp has had on Merseyside, one standout trait of his has been the man-management skills he has showcased, so Carvalho’s words are a bit of a surprise.
Either way, when he returns to the club next summer, Enrique doesn’t think he will be a part of the plans, as he posted the following message in the comments section of LiverpoolGoals Instagram post.
“Saying that, I will be very surprised if he plays for Klopp again,” said Enrique.
Carvalho’s struggles at Liverpool
A player who lit up the Championship stage with Fulham, the ball-carrying dazzler was expected to bring life into Liverpool’s team.
Whilst consistent performances weren’t expected, nor for the Portuguese star to break into the first-team, fans were looking for that magic and light.
But, instead, he struggled and proceeded to play less than 20 minutes of Premier League football from November onwards.
