Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal may not be able to sign Kaoru Mitoma from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window.

According to talkSPORT, Arsenal are interested in signing Kaoru Mitoma from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also claimed to be keen on Mitoma.

However, according to the report, Brighton are confident that the Japan international winger, who was described as “a fantastic player” by former Arsenal star Paul Merson in SportsKeeda in May 2023, will not leave this summer.

The Seagulls do not want to sell the 26-year-old, who is reportedly close to signing a new long-term contract.

Arsenal do not need to sign Brighton and Hove Albion winger Kaoru Mitoma

In our opinion, Arsenal do not need to sign Kaoru Mitoma from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners have enough players to operate out wide.

There is no point in Arsenal bringing in another winger.

Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka, Nicolas Pepe, Emile Smith Rowe and Kai Havertz are the main options out wide for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

Fabio Vieira is better off as a number 10, but he could be deployed on the flank.

Mitoma has made 34 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The Japanese star has scored seven goals and given six assists in those games.

Arsenal, though, should keep tabs on the winger and monitor his progress.

Perhaps next summer or the year after, Arsenal could revisit their interest in Mitoma.
