Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur are now reportedly trying to sign Trevoh Chalobah from Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur have made a bid to try to sign Trevoh Chalobah from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea on the final day of the summer transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur trying to sign Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea
The Italian journalist has reported on Twitter this evening that Tottenham have approached Chelsea over a loan deal for Chalobah.
Romano has suggested that Chelsea do not want to send the 24-year-old defender to Tottenham because of the rivalry between the two London clubs.
The reporter has claimed that Nottingham Forest are also determined to sign Chalobah tonight.
However, the £50,000-a-week (Spotrac) Englishman, who can also operate as a defensive midfielder, does not fancy a move to City.
It will be interesting to see what Chalobah makes of a potential move to Tottenham on the final day of the summer transfer window.
We can understand why the defender would be reluctant to move to Forest.
After all, like last season, Steve Cooper’s side are likely to be involved in a Premier League relegation battle this campaign.
Tottenham are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
Just like Chelsea are.
And because of that very reason, there is little incentive for Chelsea to send one of their players to London rivals Tottenham and make them stronger.
And that too only on a loan deal.
We do not see Chelsea sending the 24-year-old on loan to Tottenham tonight.
