Despite appearing alongside far more experienced actors, Bella Ramsey steals the show in season 2 of the BBC prison drama Time where they take on the role of inmate Kelsey Morgan which has prompted fans to seek out some of the rising star’s other must-watch shows.
1. Game of Thrones
Bella Ramsey stomped their way into the acting industry in season 6 of the hit HBO series Game of Thrones where they played the fierce Lyanna Mormont, an imposing figure despite the character being just a child.
Ramsey was just 11 years old when they filmed their first scenes but instantly became a fan favourite and reprised the role several times throughout the final three seasons.

2. The Worst Witch
In complete contrast to the gruesome nature of Game of Thrones came one of Bella Ramsey’s first starring roles in the CBBC kids’ series The Worst Witch.
Ramsey featured regularly as the character Mildred Hubble in the first three seasons, earning a BAFTA in 2019 for Best Young Performer, before only appearing in a guest role in the fourth and final instalment as their acting career truly began to take off.
3. Hilda
Bella Ramsey showed off their incredible range by taking on a voice role in the Netflix animated show Hilda where they play the titular character, an adventurous 11-year-old who loves to explore.
In 2019, the series earned a BAFTA for Children’s Animation and an Emmy for Outstanding Main Title and Graphic Design for an Animated Program.
Hilda is set to end with its upcoming third season on December 7, 2023.
4. His Dark Materials
Following their fantasy foray in Game of Thrones, Bella Ramsey returned to the genre with the BBC and HBO series His Dark Materials.
The actor appeared in six episodes of the show’s second season as Angelica, who served as an antagonist towards the main characters, one of the rare occasions where Bella Ramsey has had to flex her villainous acting muscles.
5. The Last of Us
And finally, we come to the role that Bella Ramsey will arguably be best known for among TV fans as she took on the role of Ellie in HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us.
Bella Ramsey proved themselves to be one of the best up-and-coming stars in the acting industry as they starred alongside Pedro Pascal, delivering a performance worthy of a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the 2024 Emmy Awards.
