No, Will and Jada are not divorced. The actress confirmed they have been separated but have not moved forward with any legal proceedings to terminate their marriage.
Jada made this shocking revelation in her upcoming memoir, Worthy. Speaking about the same in an NBC interview, she said: “I feel like just not being ready yet and still trying to figure out between the two of us. How to be in partnership and in regards to how to present it to the people, and we hadn’t figured that out.”
Opening up about why the relationship fractured, Jada admitted there had been multiple reasons and soon the two reached a point where they were ‘exhausted’ to try and fix things.

When did Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith get married?
Jada and Will got married in 1997. The pair have been in each other’s lives for nearly 26 years. The pair first met each other in 1994 on the sets of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Soon, sparks started flying and the couple decided to start dating a year later.
After two years of dating, the couple got married in a private ceremony. While one would think that would be the most magical moment of Jada’s life, the actress thought otherwise.
Opening up about the experience on Red Table Talk, Jada admitted she wasn’t happy when she had to walk down the aisle. She said: “I was so upset that I had to have a wedding. I was so pissed. I went crying down the freakin’ aisle getting married.” Despite those emotions, the pair exchanged their vows and got married on December 31, 1997.
Why has the couple not divorced?
In the NBC interview, Jada noted that she and Will had not filed for a divorce because of a promise they made.
She said: “I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce. We will work through whatever. I just haven’t been able to break that promise.”
