Stephen Warnock has bigged up Dominik Szoboszlai for the start he has made in Liverpool colours.
Even against Tottenham, when Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were down to ten men for large parts of the game and then nine men, he shone bright in the middle of the park.
Former Liverpool left-back Stephen Warnock thinks he has been ‘phenomenal’, as he also lauded his ‘running power’, as he told The Football Show on Sky Sports (02/10/23 at 10:40 am).
When Liverpool were struggling last season, especially in the middle of the park, a player like Dominik Szoboszlai was who the fans were dreaming of getting in.
And those inside Anfield will be grateful that they made that call to RB Leipzig because he is every bit of what they wanted.
It could be argued, alongside possibly Mohamed Salah, the 22-year-old has been Liverpool’s best player during the early stages of the new season.

“Szoboszlai was just phenomenal again,” said Warnock. “You look at his running power and his technique on the ball.
“Even with nine men, he is trying to make things happen. Trying to take the game to Spurs.”

There was a huge revamp in Liverpool’s midfield this summer and it was needed given their struggles last term.
That energy, bite, ability to suffocate opponents and brute strength was missing.
Well, someone like Szoboszlai has brought that in bucket loads, as he puts in such a shift and performances that it’s like having an extra player on the pitch.
