Genoa star Albert Gudmundsson has been compared to Mohamed Salah amid links surrounding a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on landing Genoa talent Albert Gudmundsson ahead of the January transfer window.
SOS Fanta over in Italy report that Tottenham have been keeping an eye on Gudmundsson having scouted him on more than one occasion.
It’s suggested that Roma are also interested in Gudmundsson with Jose Mourinho’s men offering competition for Tottenham.
Gudmundsson isn’t pushing for a transfer but he may well have a decision to make if Tottenham come calling in 2024.

Gudmundsson has been in fine form for Genoa this season, bagging five goals in 12 Serie A appearances.
The Iceland international is already 26, so he would be expected to make an immediate impact in his next move rather than being treated like a prospect.
Gudmundsson has now been praised as a ‘devastating’ and ‘phenomenal’ player by Genoa midfielder Kevin Strootman.
The Dutchman has told Il Secolo XIX he doesn’t think Gudmundsson will stay at Genoa for long if he keeps developing.
Strootman even compared Gudmundsson to Mohamed Salah having played with the Liverpool star at Roma.
Strootman notes that Gudmundsson is wasteful in front of goal, just like Salah was, but he could reach the top of the game if he becomes as clinical as the Egyptian.
“If he continues to grow he won’t stay at Genoa,” said Strootman. “We must be happy like this, even if every now and then he disappears a little. It happened to me with Salah at Roma. He always had 4-5 chances per game and scored a maximum of one goal. We said “but why doesn’t he score more goals” and someone replied: “And if he scored more goals he was already in Madrid or Liverpool”. In the end, then, he went there, to Liverpool.”
“Jokes aside, Gudmundsson is a devastating player, at the moment we are perhaps more dependent on him because, if he is in the game and has the ball at his feet, something always happens. He is a phenomenal player, and also a good guy: I hope he continues to improve, he has the qualities and the right mind to still give us a lot,” he added.

Gudmundsson hails from Reykjavik and started out in the KR ranks over in his homeland.
Heerenveen landed Gudmundsson as a teenager, but he spent just two years there before joining PSV Eindhoven.
Whilst Gudmundsson impressed for the Jong PSV side, he only managed 12 first-team appearances.
The attacker joined AZ in 2018 and managed 24 goals in 98 games, earning himself a 2022 move to Genoa.
14 goals in Serie B last season helped Genoa win promotion, and Gudmundsson is now shining in Italy’s top flight.
Maybe Gudmundsson is starting to ascend after a mixed time in the Netherlands, but we would still expect Tottenham to look elsewhere for an attacking addition.
