Arsenal central defender Jakub Kiwior is keen to play more regularly amid rising loan interest from teams in Italy.
Arsenal may end up being tempted to loan Jakub Kiwior out with Atalanta, AC Milan and Roma all interested in the defender.
That is according to 90Min, who claim that Kiwior is keen to play more regularly in the second half of the season.
Kiwior cost Arsenal around £20million from Spezia in January, having shown huge potential in Serie A.
The Pole has struggled for games though, starting just two Premier League games this season.
Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior keen for more first-team action
90Min now report that Kiwior ‘wants to be playing more regularly’ after a fairly low-key start to the season.
The 23-year-old is receiving plenty of interest from Italian clubs having previously impressed with Spezia.
AC Milan and Roma are keen, as we noted earlier this week, whilst Atalanta have also joined the race.
Tuttomercatoweb suggested earlier this week that Arsenal had put the block on any idea of Kiwior leaving the club.
90Min are reporting that Arsenal would be open to a loan move even if they aren’t desperate to see him move on.
We can’t see Arsenal letting Kiwior go
Kiwior may well want to play more, but he knew what he was signing up for when he joined Arsenal in January.
Arsenal already had a quality left-footed centre back in Gabriel Magalhaes, with Kiwior arriving as competition.
Gabriel remains Arsenal’s first choice for that role and will surely want Kiwior to stick around in that backup role.
Loaning Kiwior out doesn’t make any sense from Arsenal’s perspective, especially with versatile defender Jurrien Timber unlikely to return this season.
The Gunners should keep hold of Kiwior and maybe bring him in for FA Cup and certain Premier League games, attempting to ease those playing time fears.
