Alan Pardew has given his verdict on Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund after watching him in action against David Moyes’s West Ham United this past weekend.

Alan Pardew backs Rasmus Hojlund to be a Manchester United star
Well, Manchester United won against West Ham United at Old Trafford in the Premier League this past weekend.
Rasmus Hojlund was among the goalscorers. The striker found the back of the net in the 23rd minute.
Brazilian midfielder Casemiro intercepted the ball and fed it to Hojlund, who took a few touches to set himself up before firing it in.
It was Hojlund’s fourth Premier League goal in as many matches, and former Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew was impressed.
Pardew said about Hojlund on talkSPORT (7:53 pm, February 4, 2024): “I have got to say, I said on this show, the job that he had, he was unfortunate in that he is so young, he needed a back-up really, an experienced back-up where he could come in and out and have a little rest. But he has been doing it, firing away, and fair play to him, he got his rewards today, and there is no doubt that he has a big future for sure.”
The pundit added: “He is growing into the shirt.”
Pardew continued: “This guy has put the shirt on, and he has tanked it from day one, not always come off, not always looked great, but we all know in the game, everybody knows in the game, this lad is definitely the real deal. My opinion, and I think a lot of other people’s as well, it’s too soon really for him to take that role as Man United’s number 9.”
My View: Let us be patient with Rasmus Hojlund
In my opinion, Manchester United fans have to be patient with Rasmus Hojlund. I do not think that the striker should be put under too much pressure now.
Yes, Hojlund cost a lot of money in transfer fees, but it was not his fault that Manchester United paid it. We must not forget that the Denmark international turned 21 only this month.
Hojlund was very good for Erik ten Hag’s side in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League. The striker scored five goals in six matches. Michael Owen rates him highly.
The young Dane is starting to bang in the goals for Manchester United in the Premier League now. Roy Keane has been impressed. He has scored four goals and given two assists in 15 league starts.
