Liverpool have won the Carabao Cup already this season. The Reds are level on points with leaders Arsenal in the Premier League table, are expected by pundits to beat Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-finals and have progressed to the last eight of the UEFA Europa League.
The Merseyside club have had injury problems in recent weeks, but they have coped with them well. And now, Mohamed Salah is back to full fitness and is back to his best for Liverpool.
Salah was brilliant against Manchester City in the Premier League last weekend. Then on Thursday evening, the former Chelsea forward scored a goal and gave three assists against Sparta Prague in the UEFA Europa League.
The 31-year-old, who could leave Anfield at the end of the season, has scored 20 goals and given 13 assists in 31 appearances for Liverpool this season.
Martin Keown impressed with Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah
Salah has become the first Liverpool player to score 20 or more goals in seven consecutive seasons in a row, and Arsenal legend and talkSPORT pundit Martin Keown has been hugely impressed.
Keown said about Salah on talkSPORT (12:56 pm, March 15, 2024): “Salah now is at the top of his game. His numbers are just ridiculous. He just keeps putting the ball in the back of the net.”
My View: Mohamed Salah has been a bargain signing for Liverpool
In my opinion, Liverpool and Egypt international forward Mohamed Salah has been a bargain signing.
Salah cost Liverpool just £34 million in transfer fees when they signed the former Chelsea player from AS Roma in the summer of 2017 (BBC Sport).
The forward has since developed into a world-class player. He is a goal machine, and there are no signs that he is slowing down.
Salah has scored 154 goals and given 68 assists in 253 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
