» » » ‘We are with you’: Pedro Porro & Tammy Abraham react to news coming out of Tottenham right now

Whenever it rains at Tottenham Hotspur, it pours!

Even though Spurs aren’t in Premier League action this weekend, their fans always seem to get hit with a sucker punch.

For large parts of the campaign, Ange Postecoglou has brought a lot of joy to the club following his summer arrival.

The former Celtic manager’s style of play, mannerisms and how he conducts himself in the media have made him a firm fan favourite.

But Tottenham still seem to shoot themselves in the foot. Go back to the 3-0 defeat to Fulham before the international break, and most recently, the 4-0 defeat to Newcastle that dents their top-four hopes.

And now, without even playing this weekend because their opponents are in FA Cup action, the worst possible news was delivered to the fans on Saturday evening.

Destiny Udogie, who has been one of the standout performers under Postecoglou this season, has shared on Instagram that he will miss the remainder of the campaign due to injury.

The 21-year-old, without going into any specific details, shared that he has had surgery and will now be on the sidelines.

When news broke, several players sent their well wishes to Udogie in the comments section of his IG post, including the likes of Pedro Porro, Yves Bissouma, James Maddison, Tammy Abraham and Pape Matar Sarr.

Destiny Udogie ruled out for the rest of the season

Porro told his fellow fullback: ‘Come on, we are with you’, whilst Sarr told him to ‘stay strong’.

Brennan Johnson sent a two-word message saying ‘My brother’,  Bissouma added by telling Udogie to ‘stay strong. I love you’, whilst Abraham sent a love heart emoji and Maddison also said ‘love you, brother’

Ben Davies to fill in for Destiny Udogie?

With the north London derby around the corner, this is a devastating blow for Spurs, especially given the importance of the player.

It probably now means that the experienced Ben Davies will fill in for Udogie for the rest of the season.

Whilst the 30-year-old brings experience to the table and has been Tottenham’s first-choice left-back many times before.

There is a clear reason why he is now a squad player and this drop in quality could prove to be problematic.
