» » » 'Why is everyone': Arsenal told they simply can't sign 25-year-old, urged to secure Isak transfer instead

It seems as though whenever Arsenal lose, talk of the team needing a striker pops up.

In truth, after Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich, Mikel Arteta mentioned himself that the team don’t have a 30-goal hitman.

Let’s be honest, the Gunners had the chance to address that or bring in the player required during the summer transfer window.

Instead, the Premier League title-chasing side opted to bring in goalkeeper David Raya and versatile forward Kai Havertz.

Whilst the latter has improved in Arsenal colours since the turn of the year, that Ollie Watkins, Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak striker is always missed.

It seems likely that the Premier League title will end up in the hands of Manchester City once again.

And if it does, then fans will demand Arteta brings in that striker, but who do they sign in the summer?

Jay Bothroyd was reacting on Twitter to the suggestion that Arsenal are keen on Sporting Lisbon star, Viktor Gyökeres.

The former Hale-End star made it clear that he isn’t the player needed at the Emirates because he isn’t world-class and is the ‘cheap option’.

“Sorry but why is everyone talking Gyokeres leading the line for Arsenal in the Premier League,” questioned Bothroyd.

“Fair play, he’s having a great season and scoring goals but it is Portugal.”

The Newcastle United hitman has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season.

What’s even more impressive about the 24-year-old’s performances is that he has scored 17 goals from 24 league games.

Added to that, it’s for a Newcastle side that has probably been the worst hit, in terms of injuries, this season, which includes the player himself.

Either way, Bothroyd stated that Isak should be Arsenal’s ‘first choice’ by adding on social media: ‘We need world-class not a cheap option ISAK has got to be 1st choice if not him then Osimhen’.
