The transfer strategy at Chelsea has been to heavily invest in youth and their army of talented teenagers may be about to expand.
For all the criticisms aimed at Chelsea‘s owners, it must be said that they are not scared to reach deep into their pockets.
With youngsters signed to long-term deals at Stamford Bridge, there will be plenty of fingers crossed in the boardroom that they will eventually see a big return on their investment.
But so far, Chelsea’s on-pitch results have not reflected the money spent behind the scenes.
However, Chelsea are sticking to their guns and this summer alone they have recruited youngsters Marc Guiu, Omari Kellyman, Renato Veiga and Caleb Wiley.
Another wonderkid is now on their radar, and he has already been compared to the likes of Sergio Ramos.
Chelsea interest in next Sergio Ramos
According to AS, Chelsea have made moves to show an interest in Real Madrid defender Joan Martinez.
The 16-year-old centre-back has drawn attention to himself by rising through the ranks in Spain and both Chelsea and Manchester United are now showing an interest in his signature.
The report adds that Martinez’s role model is Sergio Ramos, and not only does the long-haired teen share physical similarities to the Spanish defender but he also has a similar playing style.
However, a deal to sign Martinez would be difficult with the young defender eager to break through the ranks in Madrid.

Despite already making seven new signings this summer, Chelsea are still in the market for extra reinforcements.

A striker appears to be at the top of the priority list with Chelsea heavily linked with a move for Victor Osimhen.
