» » » 'I doubt they will pay': FIFA agent questions whether Tottenham Hotspur will meet demands for axed winger

Tottenham Hotspur have made four signings this summer but Ange Postecoglou will be keen to add further new faces with Federico Chiesa on the radar.

Well, we’re counting Lucas Bergvall as a summer signing.

Bergvall rejected Barcelona to sign for Tottenham back in February but has only started his Spurs career this summer.

More teenagers have arrived too with Archie Gray joining from Leeds United before Yang Min-hyuk signed from Gangwon.

Yang won’t arrive until 2025 though and with Timo Werner the other signing, returning on loan from RB Leipzig, some fans feel that Spurs haven’t improved enough.

More signings are needed and Tottenham are hoping to secure a new striker in Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke.

FIFA agent on Federico Chiesa to Tottenham Hotspur

Another wide man could be a smart addition too and Federico Chiesa has been a popular name this summer.

Chiesa is out of contract in 2025 and Juventus want him to leave this summer before he walks away for nothing.

Thiago Motta has axed Chiesa from his squad and the winger appears to be for sale at a knockdown price.

HITC understands that Tottenham are one of a number of clubs with an interest in signing Chiesa this summer.

Chiesa still has enormous talent but has blown hot and cold since a major knee injury in 2022.

Perhaps Tottenham can get Chiesa back on track in Postecoglou’s attack-minded approach, but one agent doesn’t see a deal happening.

FIFA intermediary agent David Lavelle has spoken to Bianconera News over in Italy and was asked for his thoughts on Chiesa.

Lavelle noted that Chiesa is ‘very, very good’ but convincing him to join a mid-table Premier League club won’t be easy.

Lavelle feels that Tottenham ‘could be an option’ but doesn’t think they will pay €35million (£30million) given their other options in attack.

“He is a very, very good player. There is definitely a chance,” said Lavelle when asked about a Premier League move for Chiesa.

“I spoke to Cristiano (Giuntoli, Juventus sporting director.). I think he could find a chance at a couple of Premier League clubs and I can say that we have some requests for a left winger from Fulham, who would be willing to pay, and from West Ham. But it is tough. It will be very tough to convince him.”

“I mean, who among the big clubs has €35million in the Premier League to buy him? It will be tough to sell him. Tottenham could be an option for Chiesa, but they have quite a few players in that position. I doubt they will pay €35million,” he added.

Tottenham may need an exit out wide

If Tottenham do sign a striker – such as Solanke – then Son Heung-min may move back out to the left flank.

Brennan Johnson can play there too, though he is more likely to compete with Dejan Kulusevski down the right side.

Manor Solomon is coming back from injury but may find himself as the odd man out just a year since leaving Fulham for Spurs.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk ace picked up a major injury early into his first Spurs campaign and hasn’t played a competitive game since.

Tottenham may be tempted to move for Chiesa but it would surely take Solomon moving on in order to free up room for the Italian to come in.
