Manchester United might be closing in on their second signing of the summer, adding to the arrival of Matheus Cunha at Old Trafford.
With the transfer window now fully open until 1st September, clubs have more than two months to complete their business.

Manchester United’s only deal so far has been the £62.5m signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, a transfer that was finalised earlier in June.
Since then, things have been quiet, especially after Viktor Gyokeres opted for Arsenal over a move to Manchester last week.
Even so, Ineos are still working to give Ruben Amorim more attacking options, and that pursuit now seems to be focused on Bryan Mbeumo.

The window has now been open for 13 days, and Manchester United have completed the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves for a fee of £62.5m over a three-year period.
Since then, there have been few public movements around any other deal, with all news of a number nine going quiet. This happened after Viktor Gyokeres chose Arsenal over United last week.
However, Ineos remain committed to strengthening the attacking options at Ruben Amorim’s disposal, with Bryan Mbeumo looking likely to be the next name through the door at Old Trafford.
Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United latest
Manchester United’s first bid, which was £45 million plus £10 million in add-ons, was turned down two weeks ago.
Even with Brentford’s reputation for being tough negotiators, United haven’t stepped away from the deal. According to United in Focus, who spoke to Graeme Bailey, an agreement now seems within reach.
“United confidence is growing. Sources believe this is getting ever closer. Mbeumo’s mind is made up. There have been talks with Tottenham, but United are close now.”

Based on what United in Focus have learned, the final fee should go above £60 million. That total was always seen as Brentford’s asking price, especially considering that Cunha arrived for a similar amount.
Left-footed players on the right wing have become increasingly important for United. Erik ten Hag spent much of last season trying to solve that position.
Mbeumo offers more than just a wide threat. While he primarily plays out wide, he is naturally a forward and can also step in to support Cunha or Rasmus Hojlund in central areas when needed.
All signs suggest that Mbeumo’s move to United could be completed by the end of the month. There is growing confidence inside the club that the deal will get done.
