Andy Cole says Manchester City will beat Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to the Premier League title and he also spoke about the role Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool could play in that two-way race.
The Manchester United legend thinks Pep Guardiola’s side will beat the ‘inconsistent’ Liverpool at the Etihad on Saturday, but he warned Arsenal that they have to go to Anfield and the Etihad in April.
Arsenal hold an eight-point lead over the current champions, but the second-placed side have a game in hand.
Some would argue that they prefer points on the board, whereas others might feel that it’s better to hunt down those at the top because there will be a feeling like you have nothing to lose.
Either way, every single Arsenal fan on the planet would have snapped the hand off every person alive if you had offered them this current position at the start of the campaign.
But despite that lead, Andy Cole, who would have felt both ends, being chased and chasing for the title during his days at Old Trafford, is backing Manchester City to win three in a row, as he told the Filthy Fellas.
“I still think Manchester City will win it,” said Cole. “You are what, eight clear?!
On Man City having to play Liverpool first up: “The way Liverpool have been inconsistent, then I can see Man City winning. But I am going to be brutally honest with you. Man City, I don’t know what it is this season, for some reason, they have hardly kicked a ball.
What if Liverpool beat Man City: “Then, Arsenal (for the title), yeah, yeah. But then, Arsenal need to go to the Etihad and Anfield! Every time I have seen Arsenal play Manchester City. They have schooled Arsenal. I mean schooled.
“When I was playing, the manager (Sir Alex) always used to say to us ‘the season doesn’t get started until Easter’. That’s when you dropped points. If Arsenal come through that period, because there are mad games during that time, if they come through that dropping three or four points, then yeah (they’ll win the league).”

If they can see through this month of heart-stopping, stomach-turning, drama-filled, possibly controversial, nerve-racking and mentally testing action, then the title will be Arsenal’s for the first time since 2004.
For nearly two decades, a generation of Arsenal fans have waited for their club to live out their history and add to their trophy-laden past, which has lacked for far too long now.
