According to The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will return to training this week.
Hugo Lloris to return to Tottenham Hotspur training
It is the international break now, and French goalkeeper Lloris will reportedly resume training with his Tottenham teammates on Tuesday.
Lloris, described as “brilliant” by Spurs legend Pat Jennings on iNews this month, has been on the sidelines for two months with a knee injury.
The goalkeeper will now resume training, as he prepares to return to action, according to the report.
Encouraging for Spurs
In our view, Hugo Lloris being back in training is very encouraging for Tottenham Hotspur.
Lloris is the number one goalkeeper at Spurs, and head coach Antonio Conte will be pleased that he will resume train now.
Fraser Forster has done well in the absence of Lloris, and many will argue that it will be unfair on the former Southampton goalkeeper if he dropped to the bench.
However, Lloris is the number one goalkeeper at Spurs and is a leader.
We believe that if Lloris is fit to play by the end of the international break, then Conte will start including him in the first XI.
Meanwhile, Bild journalist Christian Falk has told CaughtOffSide that Tottenham are in talks to sign VfB Stuttgart defender Borna Sosa.
Falk wrote: “Before, we’ve heard about concrete interest from Tottenham in Borna Sosa. This winter, Leverkusen tried to get him. Sosa also wanted to leave in the past.
“He’s got new management and they’re in talks with Tottenham; Spurs are keen. He wouldn’t be too expensive for an English club, so I think this deal could happen this summer.”
