Fikayo Tomori has labelled Arsenal and Chelsea transfer target Victor Osimhen as a ‘dangerous’ player after AC Milan’s win over Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The former Chelsea centre-back was tasked with defending against one of Europe’s most devastating forwards.

Whilst Victor Osimhen scored in stoppage-time, for most parts, he was kept quiet, with Fikayo Tomori doing a job on him and helping his team go through on aggregate.

It now means that it will be an all-Milan derby, one of Europe’s biggest games, for the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Tomori was asked about coming up against Osimhen, who could be Premier League-bound in the summer, and trying to keep him at bay, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (18/04/23 at 10:20 pm).

“Victor is having a great season and I know how dangerous he is,” said Tomori. “I just tried to make sure I got my body in between him and the ball.

“Of course, I was disappointed that he managed to score in the end. But I just tried to get as tight to him as possible and try not to give him a lot of space.

“They like to play the ball in behind him a lot. Me and Simon Kjaer, we really covered the space well whenever they got their head up. I think we frustrated them and limited the number of times they could get the ball to him.

“Coming into a game like this, with a player of that quality, you know that you have to be tight to him and be switched on.”

ARSENAL AND CHELSEA’S INTEREST IN OSIMHEN

The 24-year-old is writing his name into the legendary books in Naples and he is on the verge of helping Napoli win their first Serie A title in 30 years.

Over the course of the season, he has 21 goals from his 24 league games, including five from six in the Champions League.

That’s why the likes of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and managerless Chelsea are keen on the all-action forward
