Angel Reese is the undoubted leader of the Tigers and has emerged as one of the nation’s top college basketball players. Reese broke a single-season SEC record with 32 double-doubles during the Elite Eight matchup against Miami after registering 13 points and 18 rebounds.
In the Final Four against Virginia Tech Reese finished with 24 points and 12 assists – her NCAA record-tying 33rd double-double of the season.
What year and grade is LSU’s Angel Reese in?
Ahead of the national title game fans want to know what year and grade Angel Reese is in.
Reese is a Sophomore at Louisiana State University.
The 20-year-old played for the Maryland Terrapins women’s team for a season before moving to Louisiana State University in May 2022. She barely played as a freshman for the Terrapins after fracturing her foot as they won the women’s Big Ten Tournament but lost in the Sweet 16 to Texas.
Angel firmly established herself as a sophomore in the 2021-22 seasons. She started 31 of 32 games and averaged 17.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.1 blocks per game, as the Terrapins once again lost in the Sweet 16.
Several days later she entered the transfer portal and ultimately decide to transfer to LSU from Maryland.
“When I came here, I just fell in love with everything — the environment, the people, everything that Coach Mulkey did in one year,” Reese told Just Women’s Sports. “My development, where she had me as a plan for the next two to three years — all of that was set up for me so I was just like, ‘Yeah, this is the perfect place for me.'”

Reese’s official LSU bio lists her at 6ft 3in, which makes her the second tallest Tiger behind LaDazhia Williams at 6ft 4in.
