FC Barcelona are reportedly open to selling Ferran Torres this summer to help fund new signings, with Tottenham recently linked with a move for the Spanish international.
According to Sport, the former Manchester City star is one of three attackers Barcelona are now willing to sell this summer as Xavi Hernandez looks to both raise some much-needed revenue for the club as well as overhaul his attacking options for next season.
With CalcioMercatoWeb reporting last month that Tottenham could make a move for Torres, this update could be huge for the north London side, who might now have a clear shot at signing the 23-year-old and to bring the attacker back to England.
Despite signing for Barcelona 18 months ago, it appears that Torres’ dream move to the La Liga giants has not gone to plan, with the winger spending the majority of this season spent as a backup for the likes of Ousmane Dembele and Roberto Lewandowski.
As a result, it makes sense why Barcelona could now sell the attacker with transfer interest emerging from the likes of Tottenham, with the Catalan side keen to recoup some profit this summer in the form of major player sales.
Tottenham should consider Torres move if Barcelona decide to sell
Torres’ Barcelona career has been strange, to say the least. And should the Catalan side decide to sell the youngster, Tottenham should be there to move for the £48m forward, who was recently lauded as ‘sensational’ by journalist Graeme Bailey.
With Tottenham lacking a creative attacker outside of Dejan Kulusevski, Torres could be a great addition with Barcelona now in a position to sell the Spaniard, with a potential bargain now in the works if Spurs can get the groundwork down early.
