Crystal Palace and West Ham have now joined Tottenham in the race to lure Arne Slot away from Feyenoord.

The south Londoners have hired Roy Hodgson until the end of the season as they hunt for a long-term Patrick Vieira replacement, while West Ham are set to sack David Moyes regardless of what happens this term.

In regards to Tottenham, Daniel Levy is trying to find a replacement for Antonio Conte, with Cristian Stellini holding the reins on an interim basis.

Now, it seems as if the London-based trio are all fighting for the same manager in Slot.

What’s the story?

Well, Slot is a very popular man in the Premier League right now.

The Times believe Crystal Palace, West Ham and Tottenham are all keen to hire the Dutchman, who has guided Feyenoord eight points clear at the top of the Eredivisie this season.

Slot – aged 44 – turned down an offer from Leeds back in February, while it is also said that he was on Brighton’s shortlist to replace Graham Potter before Roberto De Zerbi was chosen.

The Times add that the Crystal Palace, West Ham and Tottenham target adopts an attacking style focusing on possession, which has earned him comparisons to Marcelo Bielsa.

Crystal Palace, West Ham & Tottenham must be wary of Arne Slot

While Slot is certainly doing an impressive job at Feyenoord, the Premier League trio have to be careful about hiring him based on his achievements in the Netherlands.

With all due respect, history has shown that football in the Netherlands can be vastly different to how the sport operates in England.

For example, the likes of Frank de Boer won four consecutive Eredivisie titles with Ajax from 2010 to 2014, making him one of the most wanted coaches around at the time.

Inter Milan hired the Dutchman – only to sack him after just 85 days – before Crystal Palace then fired him after 77 days at the helm.

De Boer struggled to get his methods – which succeeded in Amsterdam – to have any impact in other top European leagues, so Crystal Palace, West Ham and Tottenham must do their homework on Slot’s playing style before making him an offer.
