After Frank Ocean dropped out from performing at Weekend 2 of Coachella, one TikTok claiming he will headline UCLA’s annual festival, Bruin Bash 2023, has gone viral.
Frank Ocean‘s previous performance at Coachella was met with criticism as he had to cut his set short due to the curfew and the news regarding his complete withdrawal from his concert which was due on the second weekend has disappointed fans extremely.
Although his show on Weekend 1 lasted for a little over an hour, fans were eager to watch him take to the stage as Frank hadn’t performed live in years. It isn’t surprising that UCLA students are finding it hard to believe he would come to their campus.
TikTok claims Frank Ocean will headline Bruin Bash 2023
Much before we came to learn about Frank’s decision to cancel his Coachella performance, a video posted to the @uclahousing account had started to get a lot of traction.
The viral video simply features two students, with one of them looking sideways with an overlay text:
“Is now a good time to tell you Frank Ocean will be headlining Bruin Bash next year.”
The TikTok account run by UCLA students captures life on the campus while sharing news and updates concerning the university. However, do not confuse it with UCLA’s official account, which hasn’t made any announcement of the sort at the moment.
Furthermore, the Bruin Bash website only consists of details regarding the festivals in 2022 and there is nothing mentioned about the one in 2023.
So, the claim made by the student’s account about Frank headlining their biggest festival might as well be a joke.
GRV Media and HITC have reached out to UCLA for comments.

Singer cancels Coachella Weekend 2 concert due to health reasons
Frank was reportedly advised by doctors to not perform due to injuries to his left leg. The singer is said to have sustained two fractures and a sprain.
He issued a statement confirming the news and called his first show “chaotic”, but looks forward to gracing the stage soon.
“There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show but I did enjoy being out there and I’ll see you soon,” Frank said.
He is believed to have hurt his leg in a bicycle accident on the ground of Coachella in the days leading up to his first-weekend performance
Blink-182 is confirmed to headline the concert on Sunday as Frank’s replacement.
UCLA students think viral video is a joke
Although a lot of them are unhappy about graduating before Frank’s rumored performance at their university festival, many aren’t ready to believe the claim and think it’s only a joke.
“I won’t graduate if this is true”, wrote one.
Another said: “I just cried for 30 minutes. You can’t tell me this and say it’s a joke.”
“Okay. I am going to apply next year and make sure I am there to watch Frank Ocean perform if this is true,” said a third TikTok user.
One commented: “The pain when you graduated in 2022 and see this.”
