Every aspect of Dylan Mulvaney’s personal and professional life is being severely criticized in the wake of the latest controversy, including the fact that she always carries tampons with her.
The transgender influencer and Bud Light have become the latest target of right-leaning Americans, who have expressed issues with the new campaign featuring the former’s face on beer cans.
While the gender inclusivity debate has divided the population, many aren’t able to fathom why Dylan Mulvaney of all people would carry tampons with her everywhere she goes.
Dylan Mulvaney reveals the real reason she carries tampons
In a TikTok that shows the influencer on Day 12 of her transition, Dylan is seen holding tampons that she had just picked up.
Clarifying the confusion among some about whether a transgender woman can really use the sanitary product, Dylan explained the tampons aren’t for her.
The TikToker was apparently using the washroom once when another woman asked her if she had tampons on her. At that moment, the influencer didn’t have any, which is why she decided to always carry them with her, just in case another woman needed it.
“I decided, I am always going to have one on hand for anyone who needs it. You come over to my house and we are having a glass of wine, I got a tampon for you. 4 am in the club and we go to the bathroom together, I have a tampon for you. Women supporting women,” she explains.

Transgender influencer has never worked with Tampax
On Day 271 of her transition, Dylan shared another TikTok, offering her opinion on the “great tampon debacle.”
Addressing the critics on Twitter who found issues with the transgender influencer carrying tampons with her, Dylan said she was well aware that she doesn’t need tampons for herself as she doesn’t have a uterus and they aren’t of any use to her.
However, she does keep them with her to be able to help other girls or women who menstruate. She also clarified that she has never worked with Tampax and the only interaction she had with the brand was when they reportedly sent her a box of tampons in April 2022, so she could give it to women in actual need of them.
Pushing back on the negativity, she explains: “This one’s really going to blow your mind. I have never made $1 off of feminine hygiene products.”
“Hope you can sleep better at night knowing this. So no need to bring Tampax into this,” she adds.
Bud Light defends its spokesperson
A representative for Bud Light’s parent company Anheuser-Busch defended their decision to have Dylan as their spokesperson while citing the company’s intention to promote inclusivity, without keeping in mind the profits as the customized beer cans weren’t for sale.
“Anheuser-Busch works with hundreds of influencers across our brands as one of many ways to authentically connect with audiences across various demographics and passion points.”
“From time to time, we produce unique commemorative cans for fans and brand influencers, like Dylan Mulvaney,” the company said.
