Donald Trump returned to Instagram to announce the second edition of his digital trading cards and users are convinced that the politician’s account is hacked in 2023.

The former President of the United States released the first installment of his NFT trading cards last December, which is believed to have sold out an edition of 44,000 in less than a day, making about $4.5 million.

One of the many posts on Donald Trump‘s Instagram since his return to the photo-sharing app following the Capitol riots, also claims that his latest NFT Trading Cards “sold out in record time, approximately $4.6 Million.”

Former U.S President announces second edition of NFT digital card

Trump’s announcement regarding the second edition of the NFT digital trading card comes along with photoshopped images of himself.

The first post by Trump on Instagram since January 2021, announcing the series 2 of his digital trading cards following the “great success” of the first edition, sees him holding the Liberty Bell, while the second image shows in superhero garb, paired with an American flag cape and a boxing belt with “Trump Champion” written on it.

In the last post that claims the latest edition sold out, the former POTUS is made to look like a rockstar on the stage against “45” in the background.

The caption of the post in which Trump poses like a superhero, brags about him not raising the price of the new edition of trading cards.

“I could have raised the price MUCH HIGHER, & I believe it still would have sold well, with a lot more money coming to me, but I didn’t choose to do so. I WILL BE GIVEN NO “NICE GUY” CREDIT?,” a part of the post reads.

Instagram users think Donald Trump’s account is hacked

A significant number of Instagram users opined Trump’s account has been “hacked”, for they find the posts too funny to believe they are real.

However, he made the same announcement on his own platform, Social Truth, while sharing the exact images and similar captions. So, it’s highly unlikely that the former President’s account was hacked.

One commented: “Did Trump’s Instagram get hacked? Bro hasn’t posted since January of 2021 and randomly has 4 posts about NFT”

“I wonder how much money the guys who hacked Trump’s Instagram are making,” wrote another.

A third person commented: “They hacked trumps Instagram LMAO.”

Meta lifted the ban in January 2023

Facebook and Instagram’s parent company, Meta, lifted the ban on Trump’s account on both platforms in January 2023, after restricting it for more than two years following the Capitol riots.

The president of global affairs at Facebook’s parent company Meta, Nick Clegg, said at the time: “The serious risk to public safety” that resulted in Meta suspending Trump in January 2021 “has sufficiently receded”.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk decided to bring Trump back on Twitter earlier than Meta. Even though the former’s President’s account was reinstated in November 2022, he hasn’t tweeted anything since.
