Relative unknown golf player Michael Block entered the final day at the Oak Hill Country Club in a tie for eighth place. The 46-year-old has been Southern California PGA Player of the Year nine of the last 10 years, and is the PGA Head Professional at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in California, where he charges $125 for a 45-minute lesson as a golf instructor.
Block finished his final round at the PGA Championship on Sunday, which included an incredible hole-in-one on the 15th hole, in a tie for 15th place.

The purse for this year’s PGA Championship is a record-high $17.5 million, with the winner taking home $3.15 million, around 18% of the total prize money.
Naturally, fans want to know how much Michael Block makes for his incredible finish.
According to reports, Block will make $309,000 for finishing tied for fifteen place at Oak Hill Country Club.
Not bad considering his biggest pay check to date as a professional golfer is $75,000.
He has appeared in 24 PGA Tour events over his career, but has made the cut in just four of those events. However, this is his seventh appearance in a major, and he won the 2022 PGA Professional Player of the Year award.
It’s been a fairytale weekend for the American, who also made a hole-in-one on the par-3 15th hole while playing alongside Rory McIlroy.
Block couldn’t really believe it, and he kept saying, “No way. No Way. Rory, did that go in?”
After finishing his round, Block was visibly emotional, telling reporters: “I’m living a dream. I’m making sure that I enjoy this moment. I’ve learned that after my 46 years of life, it’s not going to get better than this. There’s no way.”
He finished with a final-round 71, and because he finished T15, he has now qualified for the 2024 PGA Championship.
