Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo is now considering offers from around Europe for his transfer this summer. Aston Villa and Newcastle United are also targeting his services.
That is according to TuttoMercatoWEB, which reports that Arthur has received approaches from Italian Serie A, Spanish La Liga and Turkish Super Lig sides. A raft of clubs have already moved to sound out his availability with the 26-year-old likely to leave the Allianz Stadium.
It is highly unlikely that Massimiliano Allegri will welcome Arthur back into the Bianconeri’s side following his unsuccessful spell at Liverpool. The Reds hired the midfielder on loan for the season but a thigh tear sustained in October held him to just two appearances all term.
Arthur’s agent is set to speak with Juventus imminently
Interest from around Europe has convinced Arthur to consider his future following a raft of teams seeking further information. Teams across the continent have sought to understand the economic conditions required for any transfer. While his agent will also meet Juventus.
Federico Pastorello will sit down with the Turin natives shortly to evaluate all of the options available to his client. The representative and Bianconeri are likely to discuss the possibility of another loan for Arthur or the parameters Juventus will want for his permanent transfer.
Aston Villa and Newcastle are interested in his transfer
Reports by TuttoJuve earlier this week suggested that Juventus are open to granting a loan transfer for Arthur. It also suggests that his most convincing proposal is likely to come from Newcastle. But Aston Villa are monitoring any developments and could soon make a move.
Arthur’s transfer from Juventus appeals to Newcastle as boss Eddie Howe is eager to sign a midfielder with his experience. While his Allianz Stadium side will also consider an onerous loan with an option to buy. The clause would likely be worth in the region of €22m (£19m).
Liverpool had secured a £32m option with Juventus for Arthur in their loan transfer worth £4m last September. But his injury ensured the Reds never saw the player Fabinho told Sky Sports at the time was ‘fantastic’. Arthur returned to fitness and the Reds’ squad in March.
