Tottenham Hotspur will soon receive an answer from winger Manor Solomon as he weighs up a potential summer move.

Manor Solomon is expected to make a decision on his future next week amid strong interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

That is according to a report from the London Evening Standard, who claim that Solomon is heading on holiday to Ibiza.

Solomon has been in action for Israel over the international break but is now heading on holiday for a break.

The expectation is that Solomon will then communicate his plans for his future when he returns.

The report notes that Tottenham and Fulham are the frontrunners to sign Solomon but the situation is a little tricky.

Solomon is still contracted to Shakhtar Donetsk but played for Fulham last season as FIFA ruled that foreign players were allowed to leave Ukraine.

The Athletic claimed in May that Tottenham were in talks to sign Solomon on a permanent deal.

Solomon’s plan was to leave Shakhtar on a free transfer this summer thanks to FIFA’s ruling, with his deal in Ukraine set to end in December.

Tottenham may hope for positive news next week but they may have to navigate a serious threat from Shakhtar…

Manor Solomon a surprise Tottenham target

Shakhtar chief executive Sergei Palkin made his stance very clear earlier this month.

Palkin told ESPN that if Tottenham attempt to sign Solomon for free, then Shakhtar will take legal action.

Palkin and Shakhtar feel it is completely unfair that they stand to lose a talented player like Solomon for nothing when the situation is out of their control.

Still, Solomon is out of contract later this year anyway and could simply sign a pre-contract agreement to join up with Spurs in January.

The Israeli winger is still a surprise target after a mixed season at Fulham.

Solomon only started four Premier League games for Fulham and came off the bench 15 times.

The 23-year-old did have a strong spell between February and March, scoring in five consecutive games in all competitions – and then going 12 without a goal.

Whilst Solomon has the ability to play as an attacking midfielder or left-sided winger, that lack of consistent impact means he is still a risk for Spurs.

Compared to Eden Hazard for his style of play, Solomon does have some potential and Tottenham will be banking on him fulfilling it if they bring him to North London.
