Celtic are seriously considering a move to bring Brendan Rodgers back to the club as Ange Postecoglou prepares to leave.
Brendan Rodgers could be offered a return route to Celtic as a replacement for Tottenham Hotspur-bound Ange Postecoglou.
That is according to Sky Sports, who claim that Celtic have already started identifying potential replacements for Postecoglou.
The Australian is widely expected to become the new Tottenham Hotspur manager in the coming days.
That’s a huge blow for Celtic but they will be appealing to many potential candidates – possibly including Rodgers.
The former Celtic boss is being considered for a stunning Parkhead return some four years since leaving for Leicester City.
Rodgers’ exit is still a sore spot for many Celtic fans and some may find it hard to accept his return.
Ex-Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch is also thought to be a candidate for the Celtic job as they line up candidates.
The wheels may now be in motion with Postecoglou’s exit imminent but few moves would be as divisive as Rodgers making a return.

There’s a certain irony in the idea of Rodgers replacing Postecoglou at Celtic.
That’s because Rodgers has also been linked with becoming Tottenham manager in recent months.
ESPN reported in May that Tottenham had held internal discussions about moving to appoint Rodgers.
Football Transfers even claimed in May that Rodgers had been offered the Tottenham job – something which now looks well wide of the mark.
The Northern Irishman has been on Tottenham’s radar for more than a decade now but Spurs have chosen Postecoglou.
The Australian’s imminent exit could now free up a vacancy for Rodgers – but whether he wants to return to Celtic after his rather acrimonious exit remains to be seen.
