Frank Leboeuf has told Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea to sign former Newcastle United striker and current Fulham star, Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The former Chelsea defender thinks the 28-year-old is someone that strikes ‘fear’ into the opposition and he is also a ‘leader’ amongst men.
Chelsea are searching for that regular goalscorer or number nine ahead of the new Premier League season as Leboeuf also feels that Aleksandar Mitrovic ‘won’t cost a lot’, as he told ESPN.
That last part is probably wrong because, in this inflated and crazy transfer market, he might just cost a lot.
At the end of the day, he is Fulham’s main guy, their most important player and a striker. They would have every right to ask for a stupid amount for their player who scored 14 goals from 24 Premier League games last season.
If it wasn’t for his eight-match ban, then he would have easily gone above the 20-goal mark, with Leboeuf making his point.
“It’s too much for Vlahovic,” said Leboeuf. “They (Chelsea) need a striker. You have to look at what you want and what you can afford. Or who you can afford.
“There is a neighbour. I have been talking about him for six months. He is called Mitrovic. He plays for Fulham. Maybe it was possible to have him.
“We need a finisher. Somebody who stops thinking and the only thought is to put the ball into the net. And Mitrovic is the kind of guy.
“I think he would be a good target for Chelsea because price-wise he won’t cost a lot for Chelsea and in terms of transfers. And he knows the Premier League. He doesn’t need to settle down. He has been a fear to many, many centre-backs. And he would be a leader to that dressing room.”

The Serbian star was at St James’ Park as a youngster where he had a lot of aggression in him, no maturity to his game and he would often get sent off.
But since the Magpies sold him to Fulham in 2018, when they were in the Championship, he hasn’t looked back and he has taken his game to the next level.
He has been outstanding for the London club and he could argue, now in his mature years, he has the quality to take that next step up in his career.
