Matt Le Tissier has told Harry Kane to ‘follow his heart’ as the Tottenham Hotspur striker makes a big call about his future.
The 29-year-old has less than 12 months remaining on his Tottenham contract, either he signs a new deal, leaves this summer or goes for nothing in 2024.
During Le Tissier’s playing days, he was the ultimate one-club man playing for his boyhood club Southampton all his life and he told Harry Kane on Twitter that he can’t follow his wallet.
Surely, at this stage, it’s no longer about money for Kane, but what is best for the latter stage of his career.
He has over 200 goals in the Premier League, yet one constant criticism that keeps getting thrown his way is that he hasn’t won a trophy – when he became Spurs’ all-time leading goalscorer, he was labelled ‘incredible’.
Tottenham have tried, they came ever-so-close under Mauricio Pochettino to winning the ultimate one, the Champions League, but it has been downhill since then.
‘I’d tell him to follow his heart and not his wallet,” said Le Tissier about Kane’s future.
Bayern calling
With Daniel Levy not entertaining the idea of Kane joining another Premier League team, it seems as though there is only one option for Kane, if he wants to move, and that’s to Bayern Munich.
The German giants are calling. They are knocking on the door. Kane might be keen and they might think they have the chance.
But, at the end of the day, the decision is up to Levy to accept an offer. If he doesn’t, then Kane will still be a Tottenham player next season.
