Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is a transfer target for Italian giants Inter this summer and he has just posted an interesting/cryptic hint on his Instagram story about a possible move.
It’s highly likely that the 22-year-old heads for the Arsenal exit door this summer, with several teams, both in England and abroad, expressing interest in the player.
The ones generating the most headlines are Inter – and it just so happens to be that Folarin Balogun is watching old clips of one of their legendary strikers, Ronaldo.
Balogun posted a small clip on his Instagram story of Ronaldo working his magic in an Inter shirt, with the caption ‘R9’, as you can see below.

Perhaps, with all this talk of Inter, he is just keen to see what some of the club’s legendary players are like, to draw inspiration ahead of a possible move.
This is the player sending a hint because it can’t just be, with all this transfer talk with Inter, that he is watching R9 in action, not in the shirt of Brazil or Real Madrid, but Inter.
Either way, there’s no better striker for Balogun to learn from because the World Cup winner was generational.
Forget about trophies or numbers, just watching Ronaldo power through teams and smash the ball into the back of the net was a joy to behold.
If Balogun gets this transfer to Inter, and he can do a small percentage of what R9 produced, then he will be loved by the Inter fans – his own manager, Mikel Arteta, has been impressed by his recent progress and called him ‘very brave’ after he scored 21 goals on-loan at Stade de Reims last season, as he told Arsenal’s official website.
The 2023 Champions League finalists need firepower after Romelu Lukaku returned to Chelsea and Edin Dzeko headed to Turkey, so there is a big gap for someone like Balogun to fill and make his own.
