Kevin Hatchard has backed David Moyes’ West Ham United to sign Sevilla hitman, Youssef En-Nesyri.
The European football expert stated that Youssef En-Nesyri is ‘one of the best headers of the ball’ in Europe and he is someone that would be a ‘better fit’ for David Moyes than other strikers they have gone for.
This isn’t the first time that West Ham have been linked with the 26-year-old, but now his stock is high again after he helped Sevilla win the Europa League last season.
When it comes to the physical side of the game, Hatchard thinks that En-Nesyri will suit the Premier League, as he told Transfer Talk on Sky Sports (21/08/23 at 1:10 pm).
It’s now a case of the Hammers using that Declan Rice money wisely because they are starting to fill their squad up following his club-record transfer to Arsenal.
And someone like En-Nesyri is being backed to be the latest player to join them, with Hatchard speaking highly of the player.
“I think he would be a good signing for West Ham,” said Hatchard. “I can see why they have been linked with him for so long.
“He is one of the best headers of the ball in Europe, I would say, in terms of attacking the ball as a centre-forward.
“He scored a goal against Manchester City recently in the Super Cup, which was just unbelievable. We saw him do that at the World Cup for Morocco. He is somebody that had dipped a little bit, in terms of his performance levels, but you look at the back end of last season, he was a massive part of them winning the Europa League.
“In terms of his physical ability in the Premier League, I don’t think it would be a problem. I feel he is a better fit for David Moyes than some of the strikers he has gone for maybe.”
Ward-Prowse and Youssef En-Nesyri
On his West Ham debut, James Ward-Prowse supplied two assists, including En-Nesyri’s fellow countryman, Nayef Aguerd scoring from a corner during his side’s win over Chelsea.
You could just see En-Nesyri being in that position and eating up those world-class deliveries, whether it be from open play or dead-ball situations, from Ward-Prowse.
That’s why the Hammers should push all they can to sign En-Nesyri because he is a better fit than Danny Ings and he is much younger than Michail Antonio.
