Gary Lineker has raved about Arsenal and England international midfielder Declan Rice.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has told The Sun that Arsenal have signed “an exceptional player” in Declan Rice.
Gary Lineker has noted the attributes of the 24-year-old, who joined Arsenal from London and Premier League rivals West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
The BBC Match of the Day presenter has given his opinion on how Rice would make Arsenal better, adding that he would like the 24-year-old to add goals to his game.
Rice, who can also operate as a defender, has made 204 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The England international midfielder has scored 10 goals and given 10 assists in those games.
Lineker said about Rice: “A lot of players who move for big money struggle to cope with their price tag but I don’t think that’ll be the case with ex-West Ham skipper Declan Rice.
“He is an exceptional player — a holding midfielder but also far more than that. Rice is a real leader, who will run all day, a player who can break the lines and make things happen with the ball at his feet.
“Of course, £105million is a massive fee but he will not have the same pressure as a forward player who moves for big money because they are constantly judged on their scoring record.
“I’d like to see Rice add more goals to his game but nobody is expecting that of him.”

In our opinion, Declan Rice need not worry about scoring goals for Arsenal.
While scoring goals would be an asset for Rice, we believe that he should focus first and foremost on what he does best.
The Englishman is a defensive midfielder whose job is to protect the backline.
If Rice plays that role to perfection, then he should be happy.
No one was asking N’Golo Kante to score more goals when he was starring at Leicester City and Chelsea.
During his time in the Premier League, the French defensive midfielder scored 12 goals and gave 17 assists in 227 matches.
