Samantha Bugliaro takes on the role of Ashley in Harlan Coben’s Shelter but what do we know about the actress – from her age and Instagram to her previous roles?
As well offering up plenty of twists and turns, young adult thrillers such as Prime Video’s Shelter, based on the novel by Harlen Coben, are the perfect place to catch some of the upcoming stars of the future as the casts tends to include actors who are taking their first steps into the industry, which is exactly the case for Samantha Bugliaro.
Ashley Kent in Shelter
Ashley Kent is introduced in the early moments of Shelter’s first episode.
Like Mickey Bolitar, she is a new student as Kasselton High and the pair are introduced to each other by the popular Rachel Caldwell.
They quickly hit things off with Ashley asking Mickey if he’d like to meet up at a diner after school, with him smoothly asking for her phone number in response.
However, the rendezvous never takes place as Ashley mysteriously disappears, leaving Mickey worrying for her safety as she doesn’t answer his texts and is absent from school the next day.

Meet Shelter’s Samantha Bugliaro
Taking on the role of Ashley in Shelter is actress Samantha Bugliaro.
Born on April 11, 2001, Samantha Bugliaro is 22 years of age as of Shelter’s release in August 2023.
Samantha was born and raised in New York and began her acting career only a few short years ago in 2020 while she’s also taken part in some modelling work – notably appearing in ads for Once Upon A Skirt, a New Jersey-based online fashion store.
Being based in New York likely helped Samantha secure the role of Ashley as Shelter was primarily filmed in nearby New Jersey too.
Fans can find Samantha on Instagram under the handle ‘samanthabugliaro.’ She has been active on the social media site since 2018 but has recently wiped all of her old posts in favor of a fresh start.
At the time of writing, Samantha’s account has just under 800 followers but we’re expecting that number to skyrocket as her acting career continues.
Samantha’s previous roles
Incredibly, Shelter is only Samantha Bugliaro’s second on-screen acting role.
Her first and only other appearance came in 2020 when she had a role in a film called 5th Borough.
Despite only being at the very start of her career, we’re sure that Samantha’s role in Harlan Coben’s Shelter will be a stepping stone to plenty more in the future.
