Sauriyan Sapkota plays Prospero “Perry” Usher in The Fall of the House of Usher but what do we know about him – from his age and Instagram to his previous roles?
The Fall of the House of Usher is the newest horror series to land on Netflix courtesy of Mike Flanagan, the creator of The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass and The Midnight Club. The series welcomes a cast of established actors as well as several up-and-coming stars including Sauriyan Sapkota who takes on the role of Prospero “Perry” Usher.

Prospero “Perry” Usher is the youngest of several illegitimate children of Roderick, the Usher family’s patriarch.
Perry is determined to prove his worth to his father but Roderick isn’t overly impressed by his youngest son’s hedonistic lifestyle.
During the opening episodes of the series, Perry organizes a hugely exclusive and debauched party and while the event is initially a success, it ends in a shower of nightmare-inducing horror.
Meet Sauriyan Sapkota
Taking on the role of Perry in The Fall of the House of Usher is Nepali-American actor Sauriyan Sapkota.
Born in Nepal on December 27, 2000, Sauriyan Sapkota is 22 years of age as of October 2023 and the release of The Fall of the House of Usher – although he will turn 23 later in the year.
Sauriyan’s family is made up of his parents Sanjeeb Sapkota and Sabina Lamsal Sapkota as well as his younger brother Sauzaas.
They reportedly moved from Nepal to Lawrenceville, Georgia in the United States which has allowed Sauriyan to kickstart his acting career.
Like most actors in the modern industry, Sauriyan does have a presence on social media but he isn’t that active online as he’s only posted four times on his Instagram account in total, the most recent of which came back in January.
Sauriyan’s previous roles explored
Incredibly, The Fall of the House of Usher is only Sauriyan’s second-ever acting role.
His only previous acting experience came in the 2022 Netflix series The Midnight Club, also created by Mike Flanagan, where he played the character Amesh.
As fans of Flanagan’s horror series will know, the showrunner tends to work with the same actors in multiple projects so we wouldn’t put it past Sauriyan Sapkota to appear in another of his shows in the not-too-distant future.
The Fall of the House of Usher is available to stream on Netflix from Thursday, October 12, 2023.
