Who composed the score?
As well as the show’s licensed songs, Goosebumps features a creepy original score by composing duo John Andrew Grush and Taylor Newton Stewart, known collectively as The Newton Brothers.
The duo apprenticed under Hans Zimmer during the early years of their careers and have since gone on to compose music for more than 80 films and TV shows since 2007.
In recent years, The Newton Brothers have regularly worked with Mike Flanagan on projects including Oculus, Before I Wake, Hush, Ouija: Origin of Evil, Gerald’s Game, The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass and The Midnight Club. Most recently, they also composed the score for Flanagan’s latest Netflix series, The Fall of the House of Usher.
Elsewhere, the composers have also created music for Into the Dark, Doctor Sleep, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, The Forever Purge and Joe Pickett while several upcoming projects include the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie and the X-Men ’97 series coming in 2024.
Goosebumps release date and plot preview
Goosebumps landed on Hulu and Disney+ on Friday, October 13, 2023.
Inspired by the beloved RL Stine book series, the TV adaptation follows a group of five high school students Isaiah, Margot, James, Isabella and Lucas.
Together the quintet embark on a shadowy and twisted journey to investigate the mysterious passing of teenage Harold Biddle who died three decades earlier.
During their spooky mission, the gang also unearths dark secrets from their own parents’ shady pasts.

Goosebumps is available to stream on both Hulu and Disney+ after releasing on October 13, 2023.
