Production on The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 is well underway and recent set photos show an iconic Paris landmark that has been given an apocalyptic makeover.

Following the conclusion of the main Walking Dead series in 2022, the story of one of the show’s most beloved characters continues in the spin-off series Daryl Dixon, and while there are still a few episodes left to go of its first season, attention is already turning towards season 2 as filming continues.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will return for season 2

In July 2023, several months before The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon had even premiered, AMC announced that the spin-off series had been renewed for a second season alongside Dead City which aired earlier in the year.

Dan McDermott, president of entertainment at AMC said: “We’re thrilled to double down on Darylas we bring the apocalypse to France.”

The early renewal shows incredible confidence from the network in the latest spin-off series and it’s no surprise either as Daryl Dixon has been hailed by fans and critics alike as one of the best Walking Dead installments in years since its release in September.

Season 2 set photos turn iconic landmark into apocalyptic hellhole

While the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes have forced numerous film and TV productions to halt filming in recent months, The Walking Dead’s Daryl Dixon and The Ones Who Live spin-offs have been able to resume shooting thanks to a deal struck between AMC and the acting union.

As a result, production on Daryl Dixon season 2 has been able to continue throughout September and October.

And thanks to some recent set photos, revealed by TWD Universe FR on Instagram, fans have been able to catch their first glimpse of a key Paris landmark that will feature in the second season, The Louvre Museum.

The images show the iconic Louvre Pyramid and the surrounding courtyard which has been turned into a post-apocalyptic wasteland for filming, complete with military vehicles, horses, rusted and burnt-out cars as well as overgrown vegetation.

This confirms that Daryl Dixon’s story is likely to continue in Europe in season 2 despite his best efforts to get back home to America.

How many episodes are left in season 1?

Just two episodes remain in season 1 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon at the time of writing.

Before attention can fully turn towards season 2 of Daryl Dixon, there is the small matter of the final few episodes of season 1 to navigate first.

In total, the first season of The Walking Dead spin-off will feature just six episodes and as of October 7, four of those episodes have already aired on AMC – while fans can also stream episodes early on AMC+.

The full schedule for Daryl Dixon on the main AMC network is as follows:

  1. L’âme Perdue | September 10
  2. Alouette | September 17
  3. Paris Sera Toujours Paris | September 24
  4. La Dame de Fer | October 1
  5. Deux Amours | October 8
  6. Coming Home | October 15
