Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino was spotted giving a warm embrace to his former Tottenham Hotspur star Kyle Walker on Sunday afternoon.

As far as the ‘Super Sunday’ tag goes, today has lived up to the billing more than most.

Chelsea played out a bonkers 4-4 draw with Manchester City in a game which swung one way and then another.

Cole Palmer had the final world, firing home from the penalty spot just over a couple of months since Manchester City sold him.

This will go down as an immediate Premier League classic, with Mauricio Pochettino no doubt happy with what he has seen from his side.

Admittedly, Pochettino was furious at the final whistle as Anthony Taylor called time on the game just as Chelsea were breaking forward.

Pochettino’s rage quickly subsided though as he bumped into his former Tottenham Hotspur right back Kyle Walker.

Pochettino took Walker’s game to another level at Tottenham, enjoying three great years together between 2014 and 2017.

Walker then decided to leave Tottenham for Manchester City, a move justified by the fact that he has won trophy after trophy under Pep Guardiola.

Pochettino and Walker were on opposite sides today but shared a warm embrace after the full-time whistle, still clearly sharing real admiration for each other some six years since going their separate ways.

Replacing Walker hasn’t been easy for Tottenham

Tottenham fans won’t love seeing Pochettino in charge of Chelsea, but seeing that moment with Walker will have taken Spurs supporters back to the Pochettino era.

Walker flying up the right flank was a joy to behold and he certainly owes a lot of his success to Pochettino’s coaching at Tottenham.

Walker has thrived at City and Tottenham have found that replacing him hasn’t been easy.

Serge Aurier, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker-Peters, Matt Doherty, Emerson Royal and now Pedro Porro have all had a go at following Walker’s lead at Tottenham.

Trippier was always a quality player but fancied a change whilst Porro is now starting to show his best football in a Spurs shirt.

Porro is hopefully making the position his own now and will be looking to reach Walker’s level in the coming years.
